Eggs and blood cholesterol
A meta-analysis of randomised trials found egg consumption raised total cholesterol by 5.60 mg/dL, and raised both HDL and LDL. A separate meta-regression estimated that each additional 100 mg/day of dietary cholesterol predicts an LDL rise of about 1.90–4.58 mg/dL. The claim that eggs are lipid-neutral is not supported by these data.
