Red and processed meat: what the IARC classification means
The IARC Working Group placed processed meat in a particular hazard category. The distinction matters: this is a hazard classification, not a measure of risk magnitude. It says a factor is capable of producing an effect, not how much any given intake shifts probability. The two are routinely confused.
